Dear ZeroPC Members,
First of all, I want to extend a sincere Thank You for being among our loyal ZeroPC supporters.
Since we first introduced ZeroPC earlier this year, our team has been diligently working to further develop ZeroPC's rich suite of features and applications. We listened to your feedback and have continued to focus our development efforts on delivering distinctive and highly-desirable innovations for ZeroPC to give you the best user experience possible.
ZeroPC has evolved into a powerful Content Navigator for the Cloud that enables you to regain control of your digital content that has become scattered across multiple Web services and social sites. By connecting all of your cross-platform content, ZeroPC makes it accessible from one secure location using a browser and a single login.
It is with great pleasure that now we are launching ZeroPC 2.0, an enhanced cloud desktop foundation that features several important new capabilities - Universal Search, Cloud Dashboard, Secure Backup, enhanced security, and exciting new "ZeroPC Cloud Navigator" apps for Android and iPad tablets! Be sure to watch our new video posted on the ZeroPC website!
Let's first address data security - an issue of paramount importance to all of us in the Cloud era where there are an abundance of cloud data and social services available. ZeroPC is very serious about protecting your identify and security and we have implemented several layers of security to protect your valuable content. All data transmission between your browser and ZeroPC is encrypted using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)—the same level of encryption used by banks and other financial institutions.
ZeroPC never stores your username and passwords for connected services such as Evernote, Dropbox, Box.net, etc. Instead, we have implemented an industry-standard and very secure technique called "OAuth" to enable these connections by transferring the control for each service back to its own highly-secure login page. ZeroPC is registered and has been validated by each of these Web services. After you have been successfully logged into each site, their servers pass ZeroPC an encrypted "token". This token, along with our secret key, allow us to access the content in those Web services. As a user, you have complete and sole control and your may revoke this authentication at anytime.
ZeroPC stores your content in highly-encrypted servers hosted globally by Amazon Web Services. Even if you use public computers at a business center or Internet café, ZeroPC provides you with a limited-use unique login security key. If you need to leave your ZeroPC screen unattended, you can activate a desktop screen lock using a four-digit PIN that you specify.
ZeroPC 2.0 gives you the ability to do personalized searches through yours AND your friends’ cloud content using Universal Search. Imagine that you want to find any content related to Hawaii. You would simply enter keywords into ZeroPC’s built-in search bar and ZeroPC will navigate through all of your content and messages, plus your friends’ cloud content pertaining to Hawaii. The combined search results may include trip itineraries, emails, maps and sightseeing suggestions from friends’ Facebook, photos and videos.
With ZeroPC 2.0’s new Cloud Dashboard, you can now see a consolidated view of your personal cloud storage and analyze your content by categories including documents, photos, music, videos and others. You can even backup your important cloud content right to ZeroPC.
We hope you enjoy and benefit from all of ZeroPC 2.0’s exciting new enhancements, and look forward to bringing you even more features and applications in the near future. In the meantime, I encourage you to tell your friends, family and colleagues about how easy it is to connect, search, analyze, navigate and share cloud content using ZeroPC.
